SCI launches blockchain solutions for enterprises

MAKATI, November 22, 2018 — SCI Ventures, Inc. (SCI) launches SCI Blockchain Technologies to provide blockchain solutions to companies that wish to leverage blockchain technology.

The new division was established in response to the recently growing interest from private, government and academic sectors in the Philippines. The demand from these sectors grows constantly despite the continuous slump in the crypto market.

SCI is one of the oldest players in the blockchain space in the country. It is also one of the first companies to register with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as a remittance and transfer company that can convert peso into virtual currencies like bitcoin and ethereum. SCI Blockchain Technologies was the culmination of the company’s 4 years of hard work in developing blockchain technology solutions; namely, Rebit, BuyBitcoin, and bitbit.

The new enterprise and blockchain innovation division will be led by Peter Ing, who is currently the head of enterprise at SCI and also the country lead at BlockchainSpace Philippines. Joining the team are SCI Chief Blockchain Architect Marco Mejia and two other experienced developers.

Peter is determined to help enterprises realize the value of the technology. Further, he affirmed that his team is dedicated to putting their clients’ interests first.

“Just like the days of the early Internet, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are still uncertain about the future value of blockchain. And as this technology approaches its tenth anniversary, we are here to help our customers decipher the value it will bring to their business in order to build long-lasting solutions that will help ready them for the future,” said Peter.

SCI Co-founder and CEO John Bailon expressed his delight in the founding of SCI Blockchain Technologies that allows them to share the technology that they have been working on over the last 4 years.

“These past months businesses have been asking what can this technology do for us and our business and this team is here to answer that. We are incredibly fortunate to bring onboard seasoned professionals who I have personally known in the tech space for years and were early adopters of the Blockchain technology. I cannot think of better people to drive this,” added Bailon.
