MAKATI CITY, Philippines — Asia Blockchain Review and BlockDevs Asia in cooperation with Ground X are inviting blockchain enthusiasts in the Philippines to a meetup dedicated to new smart contract platforms and be part of the lively discussions on how these newly emerging platforms are compared to Ethereum, the blockchain which popularized the concept of smart contract functionality.
The event will be held on Saturday, 4 May 2019, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM PST at Accelr8 Coworking Space Upper Basement, 111 Paseo de Roxas, Legaspi Village, Makati City.
Revolving around the theme: “Smart Contract Platforms Today: Looking Beyond Ethereum,” the meetup will feature tech experts who will lead in-depth discussions on key features of iOST and Klaytn and how these platforms fare against Ethereum.
IOST is an ultra-fast, decentralised blockchain network based on the next-generation consensus algorithm “Proof of Believability” (PoB). Its mission is to be the underlying architecture for online services that meet the security and scalability needs of a decentralized economy.
Klaytn, on the other hand, is Kakao’s global public blockchain project which is an enterprise-grade, service-centric platform that brings user-friendly blockchain experience to millions. It combines the best features of both public blockchains (decentralized data & control, distributed governance) and private blockchains (low latency, high scalability) via an efficient ‘hybrid’ design.
Both are viable alternatives to Ethereum, the first decentralized platform that runs smart contracts and offers a framework for building decentralized applications (dapps).
Experts confirmed to serve as resource persons are BlockDevs Asia Community Lead and Consyensys Full Stack Developer Chris Verceles; regional office research and chief data scientist, and current Ground X Eco-social Impact Head Jerome Jonggun Lee; and EOI Digital CTO and Co-founder Amadeo Brands.
Register here. This event is open to all and is free of charge.
