LoyalCoin announces partnership with Grab Philippines

Earlier in July, blockchain platform NEM pronounced that its partner LoyalCoin is set to collaborate with Grab Philippines. The partnership will allow passengers of the ride-hailing app to use LoyalCoin to pay for their rides. The proposal delighted many crypto enthusiasts as it brings something new to the table.

On September 6, 2018, the highly-anticipated collaboration has been set in stone. The company’s founder and CEO Patrick Palacios announced the official contract signing of LoyalCoin and Grab on Facebook. In a statement, he said,

“A lot of our loyalists would be excited. They can go to point A to B or deliver something using LoyalCoin.”

In a separate interview, Paolo Bediones, the COO of Appsolutely which is the creator of LoyalCoin, stated that the agreement between the two companies will surely benefit the riding public. Not only will they be able to use cryptocurrency in the app, but it will also open a window of opportunity to learn about the uses of blockchain.

Country head of Grab for Business Martin Luchangko also expressed his excitement about the partnership. He said that Grab is user-focused. The company always envisions to delight their customers in many ways.

“The fact that LoyalCoin provides so many options for their loyalists is actually very much in line in what Grab does for our riders as well,” he added.

Grab Vouchers will be made available on the LoyalWallet. Riders shall simply input the said voucher on the Grab App to book a ride or schedule a pick-up/delivery.
