CEZA awards license to to operate offshore virtual exchange

MANILA, December 10, 2018—The Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) grants digital trading asset exchange,, a license to operate offshore virtual currency exchange services in the economic zone.

Similar to other cryptocurrency exchange operators that have been granted a license by the economic zone, has also undergone a stringent probity and integrity check prior to securing a Financial Technology Solutions and Virtual Currency (FTSOVC) license., being one of the pioneers in developing a blockchain-based trading exchange, aims to contribute to the economic development of CEZA in the area of blockchain, crypto and financial technology solutions.

Vanessa Koh, vice president of, is pleased with the issuance of the license that will allow them to offer financial solutions and offshore virtual currency exchange services to their global customers.

We are glad to have the support in the Philippines and be part of the government’s master plan to establish a clear cryptocurrency ecosystem in the country,” Koh added.

While said license enables fintech companies in the economic zone to operate virtual currency exchange services, products and services rendered by these companies would be limited to the residents and entities outside the Philippines.
